Artist Bio

John Pence is a Berklee College of Music grad songwriter and producer, residing in historic Roanoke, Virginia.  He divides his creative endeavors evenly by producing electronic-based compositions as Decampi, writing a wide array of songwriter material as a solo artist, and performing with lively bands such as exotica dance band, Cinematheque (on keys), neo-psych rockers, The Young Sinclairs (on drums), and the beautiful indie outfit, The Concerns (on guitar).  When he is not producing, writing, or performing, John manages non-profit music venue, The Spot on Kirk, DJs for special occasions, and loves taking film pictures, which he often uses for his own cover art.

Professional Bio

John Pence is a Roanoke, Virginia-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and arts advocate. After earning his degree in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music, he helped establish and now manages The Spot on Kirk, a cornerstone nonprofit music venue in downtown Roanoke. He has also contributed to the community as an Artist-in-Residence with Carilion Clinic’s Healing Arts Program. In addition to his creative work as a solo artist, John performs with Cinémathèque, The Young Sinclairs, The Concerns, and DJs electronic music as Decampi.
